As, I am the student of Agriculture, I got a chance to have an excursion on herbal farms, district Ayurvedic Health centre and naturopathy hospital of chitwan district related to Medicinal and Aromatic plants. We all the students of 5th semester of Agriculture and Forestry university had our excursion where we get chance to view, realize and understand the importance of medicinal plants, its use and applicability.
First we went to the Bishnu Ayurved Herbal production farm which is located at Dhramapur, chitwan. It is run by active proprieter Dandapani kafle. This herbal farm is associated with agriculture campus of Rampur too. This farm delivers the services of interaction with each farmers about the cultivation and importance of medicinal plants Mr. Dandepani kafle, the proprieter himself dictated about the medicinal plants and their uses and we explored the farm to identify the available herbal plants in Bishnu Ayurved Herbal Production Farm. Certain medicinal plants that we identified in form were Tulsi, Avijalo, kurilo, sarpagandha, Gurjo, kamini, pyauli, kyemuna, chutia, patharchatte, kalmeg, kapur, Asuro, punarnava, etc. The owner of the farm also revealed that allowance of the cultivation & marketing of the endangered species is demanded by farmers. The endangered species have high market value & can fetch good price helping to improve the livelihood of people. Mr.Dandapani Kafle seemed very well experienced and with immense knowledge on medicinal & aromatic plants. This was my great opportunity to get interact with him. Continue reading
